Martin Pearce
British expatriate, Bangkok
"I had been meaning to go through my UK pension statements for about three years and kept putting it off. The introductory session finally gave me enough context to understand what I was looking at. Nothing complicated, nothing pushy — just a clear walkthrough."

Supranee Nantharat
Retired teacher, Bangkok
"The document organising session was exactly what I needed. I brought two bags of papers and left with everything labelled and filed. I know I could find any document in under two minutes now. Robert was thorough and very calm about the whole thing."

James Harwood
Australian, living in Sukhumvit
"I joined the Year-Long programme about seven months ago. The monthly meetings have become something I genuinely look forward to. It is a relaxed group — people ask real questions and nobody talks down to you. The guides are well written and actually useful."

Karen Lennox
Canadian, working in Silom
"What I valued most was that nobody tried to sell me anything or suggest what I should do with my pension. The session was purely about understanding the documents, which is exactly what the website says. It did what it said it would — that is not always the case."

Peter Weston
New Zealand, living in Nonthaburi
"Good session overall. The group was a reasonable size so there was time for questions. I found the section on how to read a benefit projection statement particularly helpful — something I have never had explained clearly before. I would come back for the organising session."

Ananya Thongchai
Bangkok, approaching retirement
"I came with documents from three different schemes and was honestly confused about most of them. Nattaya walked through everything patiently and never made me feel like the questions were silly. I left with a much clearer picture. The printed guide is still on my desk."

Participant Journeys
Three examples of how different people approached their document situations through Quietharbor.
David M.
Semi-retired, UK national
The Situation
Held pension records from two UK providers and a superannuation fund in Australia. Had not opened most of the correspondence in two years and did not know what any of the numbers referred to.
What We Did Together
Attended the introductory session, then booked the organising support. We created separate labelled sections for each scheme and set up a consistent digital naming structure.
Outcome
Left with a clear physical and digital filing system and a working understanding of what the different sections of each statement contain. Also enrolled in the Year-Long programme to keep updated.
"I can now find any document I need in under a minute. That sounds small but it makes a real difference to my peace of mind."
Thanida N.
Community group organiser, Bangkok
The Situation
Organised a group of eight neighbours who had all received new pension documentation and wanted to understand it together in a relaxed setting, in English.
What We Did Together
Ran a dedicated group introductory session for the eight participants, working through common document structures. Extra printed guides were provided for each person to take home.
Outcome
The group left with a shared vocabulary for discussing their documents and the confidence to read future correspondence without setting it aside. Several subsequently joined the Year-Long programme.
"Nattaya was wonderfully patient with our questions. The session felt like a conversation, not a lecture."
Richard S.
Irish national, long-term Bangkok resident
The Situation
Enrolled in the Year-Long Companion programme after attending the introductory session. Wanted an ongoing way to stay informed as his retirement documents became more relevant.
What We Did Together
Monthly group meetings covering different aspects of pension documentation, plus access to the community discussion group for questions between meetings. Also completed the document organising check-in.
Outcome
After 10 months in the programme, Richard describes feeling comfortable and informed when new documents arrive, rather than anxious. Has renewed for a second year.
"The community group alone is worth it. It is good to know other people are working through the same things."
Come and See for Yourself
The easiest way to judge whether Quietharbor is the right fit is to come to one session. The introductory session is a low-commitment starting point. If it does not suit you, there is no pressure to continue.
